In reply to Brian. Thanks Brian! It's been a couple of months since I've paddled either boat, but I think they're very similar in speed and glide. The big difference is that the Pakayak is more confidence inspiring in rough water, because it's a hardshell, whereas the Coast XT is much lighter and easier to get around. Both are nice boats!!

In reply to Kevin Klasman. Thanks Kevin! I've been wanting to test a Point 65 for a while, but haven't been able to get my hands on one. Hope to soon. The obvious and in my opinion, big difference is the fact that the Point 65 doesn't stack and fit inside a single bag. It makes it a semi-portable kayak, rather than a fully portable kayak.

Love the review (and all of you content I’ve seen). The Pakayak is very compelling, but I’d love to see you compare it to the Point 65 Mercury GTX, a similar, but somewhat heavier portable kayak.

Hi ken, your pakayak review is very helpful. You compared the pakayak speed against the inlet. Now that you have also reviewed the oru coast xt how would you compare its speed, glide capability with that of the pakayak. I’m trying to sort out which one to buy for moderate water touring on Long Island bays. Thankyou..
