Is there any way you can send me the basics route you took. We are taking a group of ten with limited experience so want to avoid any rapids above a II if possible. Don’t mind portaging around a few.

Comment on Sea Kayaking Trips: Ocean Kayak Tours in Dominica by Top Caribbean Kayaking Destinations https://Hazeadventure.com/sea-kayaking-trips-ocean-kayak-tours/#comment-13642 Wed, 27 Aug 2025 04:03:52 +0000 https://Hazeadventure.com/?p=5147#comment-13642 The real showstopper in my book? Dominica. The Waitukubuli Sea Trail is honestly like paddling through a lost world: wild cliffs, dense jungle, and that blue – no filter needed. Designed for true sea kayakers, it’s a life-changing route.

Comment on Perception Showdown 11.5 Kayak Review – Pedal Fishing Kayak by Randy Reek https://Hazeadventure.com/pedal-fishing-kayak-perception-showdown-11-5-review/#comment-13316 Sat, 16 Aug 2025 23:43:20 +0000 https://Hazeadventure.com/?p=1670#comment-13316 I just finished a 50 mile river float trip in the Showdown. Because of shallow rocks and rapids, I had the prop drive folded up for over half of the time. But the drive is perfectly flush when retracted.
It was worth the added weight of the pedal drive on flat sections. Pedaling is at least 4 times more efficient than paddling – especially into the wind!
PS. I also entirely replaced the stock seat and elevated base for a lower seat and lower center of gravity.

Comment on Osprey Exos 48 Review: Osprey’s Run at Ultralight Backpacks by CGPH MARK https://Hazeadventure.com/osprey-exos-48-backpack-review/#comment-9653 Fri, 13 Jun 2025 05:50:19 +0000 https://Hazeadventure.com/?p=8102#comment-9653 This is a great and detailed review of the Osprey Exos 48! I appreciate how you explained both the strengths and the small drawbacks of the pack. It’s good to know that it’s lightweight yet still comfortable for long hikes, thanks to the great ventilation and supportive hip belt. The tips on packing and the note about the compression straps are really helpful too. It sounds like a solid choice for anyone looking for a balance between weight and comfort on the trail. Thanks for sharing such an honest and informative review—perfect for hikers doing their research!

Comment on Torqeedo Travel Ultralight Kayak Motor Review by Kevin https://Hazeadventure.com/torqeedo-travel-ultralight-kayak-motor-review/#comment-6834 Mon, 10 Feb 2025 13:20:39 +0000 https://Hazeadventure.com/?p=15043#comment-6834 Thanks for the review. I recently purchased the new Torqeedo Travel Ultralight. I noticed one issue, which is explained in the operators manual and could cause frustration. The connection between the motor and the battery is fully waterproof. The manual states that any liquid (water, WD-40, etc.) will cause a stiff connection that will not allow the plug to fully seat into the socket. It happened to me after spraying down the plug and socket with WD-40 several days before attempting to make the connection again for testing. No amount of shaking either the plug or the battery cleared the WD-40 from the connectors. I had to clear out the liquid using compressed air to make the connection. This leads me to think that a small can of compressed air will be needed in my toolbag to clear out the WD-40 if I fail to do so before leaving home.

Comment on P&H Virgo Sea Kayak Review by Ken Whiting https://Hazeadventure.com/sea-kayaks-virgo-touring-kayak-review/#comment-6659 Thu, 16 Jan 2025 14:58:01 +0000 https://Hazeadventure.com/kaxxy76hezml2lm2cdsvbq65z1a9d1/#comment-6659 Actually… I have paddled the Virgo a lot, as it’s one of my favorite touring kayaks. More importantly though, the width of a kayak is directly connected to its stability. The Virgo is 23″ wide. This is quite narrow, because the kayak prioritizes speed/performance over stability. Recreational kayaks range from 28″ – 36″ wide, because they prioritize stability over speed/performance. The fact that the Virgo is the most stable kayak that you’ve ever tried indicates that you’ve never tried a recreational kayak, which are designed for entry level paddlers.
