Because of shallow rocks and rapids, I had the prop drive folded up for over half of the time. But the drive is perfectly flush when retracted.
It was worth the added weight of the pedal drive on flat sections. Pedaling is at least 4 times more efficient than paddling – especially into the wind!
PS. I also entirely replaced the stock seat and elevated base for a lower seat and lower center of gravity.
